With just hours left until we see stars walk the Met Gala 2024 carpet, here's a look at times Blake Lively's ensembles matched the carpets.

Within a few hours, celebrities will arrive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan to attend the annual fundraising gala. While fans are excited to see what their favourite stars wear to the MET Gala 2024, we at Bollywood Bubble are taking you back in time to when Blake Lively matched her ensemble to the gala’s carpets.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress managed to accomplish this feat four times since 2018 and has pretty much slayed in every one of those looks. In May 2020, when it was announced that the MET Gala would be cancelled that year owing to Covid, Blake shared her three of her looks from the Costume Institute Gala and captioned it, “…when the carpet matches the Blakes. Met Ball 2018, 2017, 2016”

Blake Lively attended the 2016 MET Gala dinner and matched its carpet dressed in a strapless Burberry gown. The ensemble featured red floral motifs peppered throughout the train and matching cape.

Blake’s ensemble for the dinner, themed Manus Machina: Fashion In The Age of Technology, made the actress look like a princess. According to brand, Lively helped design the floral embellished gown herself.

Blake Lively attends the 2017 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute benefit gala dressed in a gold and blue gown. Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, complimented the actress by opting for a sky blue bowtie.

The fitted gown featured a plunging neckline as well as layers of draped gold beading that descended down her body. The Atelier Versace creation ended with a blue feather train.

The theme for the 2018 Met Gala was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, and Blake Lively nailed the theme in this ruby and gold Versace gown.

The creation featured a jewel-encrusted corset and ornate beading throughout the draped skirt that took more than 600 hours to create by hand. She accessorised the carpet matching ensemble with a spiked hairpiece that gave the impression of a halo around her head.

Blake Lively slayed not one but two looks with a single Versace dress at the 2022 Met Gala. Her first look comprosed of a copper strapless column gown with a bustled skirt and full-length matching satin gloves, paired with emerald earrings and a tiara.

When unwrapped, the copper gown transformed into a turquoise strapless gow – represented the oxidation on the Statue of Liberty (which is made of copper). She paired the gown with matching turquoise gloves. Lively’s gown also paid tribute to New York landmarks such as the Empire State Building and Grand Central Station.

The theme for this year’s star-studded night is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’. It will see celebrities from across the globe put their best fashion foot forward in their understanding of the dress code, The Garden of Time.
